Tom van Soest graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2011 on a project that researched the potentials of demolition waste as a new material for building materials. Soon after, he started the company StoneCycling, which not only finds ways to upcycle (industrial) waste but is also capable of turning, tailor made, lab-scale samples into big-scale certified building materials; the WasteBased Brick. Mixed with an array of hues, the WasteBased brick is a fresh way to inject not only colour into building facades but also meaning; clean up by building.
